The Log Book's purpose is to provide an accurate account of a technician's progress throughout the duration of a training program. It provides an ongoing record of both the off-job training course modules and the on-job competency standards being undertaken in the workplace, as well as a logged history of industrial experience.
A trainee will be responsible for maintaining all records throughout the log book, with supervisors responsible for validating the industrial experience entries and assessors for assessing the competency standards to the specifications indicated.
